The KAF Student Union is an organization that serves to represent and promote the interests of KAF students both in the Institute and outside of it. The Union seeks to promote co-operation among its members for educational, social, cultural and athletic activities. In its functioning, this organization follows the principles of initiative, creativity, freedom and responsibility.

Although the KAF Students Union was established only a few years ago, in 1995, it has already set certain traditions into the KAF student life. Among the most vivid events organized by the Union are the Days of Student Art that take place in Kaunas Art Faculty every spring since 1996. This art festival involves exhibiting of student artworks in the Institute and other locations around Kaunas Old Town, numerous art actions and performances, and publishing of accompanying brochures and posters. The Days of Student Art usually gets publicity in the media too.

As a matter of fact, the Union takes active part in organizing various trips in and outside Lithuania, freshman initiation events, and student parties.

The Union, however, is not limited to organizational activities only. This organization is a shelter for every student who likes to share his/her time with peers and wants to contribute to the improvement of communal life and study environment.

Another significant achievement of the Union is the annual Origami Symposium whose main organizer is the KAF Student Union. Supported by the Swedish paper and cardboard producer StoraEnso, this festival draws a diverse group of local and international artists who like experimenting with wood, paper and cardboard. Works produced during the symposium are exhibited throughout Lithuania in art galleries and public spaces.
