Sculpture Studio The Sculpture Studio was established in 1995 as a part of the Department of Art Fundamentals. The KAF sculpture training involves two directions: (1) applied-decorative sculpture (both monumental and small-size works), and (2) conceptual sculpture that comprises object art, installation, and other contemporary art forms. The Bachelor’s Sculpture Program focuses on the basic training of a sculptor. Students acquire fundamental knowledge and skills in aesthetic, technological and humanities fields as they relate to sculptural practice. In the Master’s level, students usually develop with their advisor an individual program of study, while continuing along the way to receive instruction on professional disciplines of sculpture. Most diploma projects deal with exploration of non-traditional space and search for new sculptural forms, simultaneously demonstrating the level of student’s mastery in handling sculpture technologies and materials. The academic curriculum includes development of skills for working with traditional sculptural media (granite, metal, wood), and non-traditional materials such as plastics, glass, sand, water, and others.Sculpture Studio students begin to participate in exhibitions and other art projects as early as in their undergraduate years. After graduating they become active participants in national and international sculpture competitions, and organize art events themselves.
